ok so i went to the mechanic and he put the computer on my car and told me i got a bad map sensor. so i replaced it a while back but it's still running horribly and shooting out the code for map sensor.

now i'm pretty sure the map sensor is the one on the intake, my vavle cover gasket was leaking a while back and shot oil all over the place in the process the intake got covered with oil, pretty sure some of it may've gotten caught up in the map sensor.

now my question for one is would it be easier to just try to clean out the map sensor or get a new one? also what should i do about all the oil all over the place?

i got a 98 sunfire 2.2, would anything else cause the computer to read the sensor is bad?

i know this is an old post, but did you ever find out what your problem was?
