ok got a po118 code and mechanic told me to change the sending unit. ok. did that. ran all day great. now it went bad. it pull the same code up. and its flucuation through the temp range. takes like a min for it to start (good thing i have a good battery) and it sounds like it went into base timing mode not sure tho. how to fix this. my gma's car and i dont want her standed when it wont start or messes up
its a 1998 four door 2.2 3sp. auto
Probably not the sensor, but the wiring connecting to the sensor. I have seen this on a few 2.2's. Car probably drive like ass and stalls as well.

it doesnt stall, when it tries i rev it, but when i turn it off itll be hard to start and i have to pump it like a carburator. where do those wires go

But if you did not rev it it would stall right? It is not where the wires go. It is the design from the factory. On the ones I have dealt with they go under that coolant pipe and get pulled alot of times. This over time with help of heat breaks the wires on the inside. GM actually sells that wire clip with about 4 inches of wire to replace it.
