Hi everyone..
Ive got a 2000 Cavalier z24 with 170000kms, Im getting a bit of idle variation recently.
Warm or Cold, it idles between 500-800RPM, goes up and down almost like clock work.
I recently installed the Turbotech upper and lower engine mounts and i can notice the idling alot more now since the car vibrates more.
I also installed a WAI recently,
I put some seafoam in the brake booster, changed the plugs to IGK iridium, and still no change.. i also sprayed some throttle body cleaner with no change.
Can the TPS or IAC valve cause this problem?
Maybe a Vac leak? how do i check for a vac leak?
Can someone suggest where i can start to fix this problem?
Any help would be appriciated.
Its common to have viberations with the poly mounts, Some get more viberations then others, Ive got the upper and lower mounts installed, Ive got viberations as well. The performance is the benefit for it. For the idle You could remove the IAC motor unit try cleaning it, If that doesnt help, Could have a vaccum leak / Hose leaking.
Good Luck.
Ya i know the cars supposed to vibrate more with the mounts in..
How do i check for a leaking vac hose?
check your idle control sensor
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
Cleaned the IAC and it fixed it right up.. thanks
