Small problem, when first starting the car, at times it wont start on the 1st try, if it does, it will sit at 10/11 volts for about 10 seconds, then jump to 14 where its supposed to be.
Wiring? Alternator? Battery?
This was a once in awhile problem, but since its been pretty damn cold up there (Canada) its been an every day occurrence.
Once its at 14 volts, its all good, everything works, but there is an alternator whine when I use the rear defrost, its VERY annoying
Thanks in advance!
I would first check the chassis/engine block ground(s), seems like there is maybe an iffy connection there, making sure they were "shiny" clean before they are tightened down correctly.
This won't cost much to do.
As for the alternator whine, if the ground check doesn't cure it have the alternator checked out,it can be caused by one (or more) bad diodes. This may also be the delay in obtaining 14 volts
Let us know your progress.

Considering I want to replace the power and ground wires for motor and such, I will be able to check those things off pretty quickly whether they are the culprit or not. The battery ground is fine, it was replaced this past summer and I have already rechecked 2 days ago, same with battery wire to fuse block. The rest I will check out and see if anything is loose.
Thanks.
