hello my z24 won't start with the ignition like it's supposed to.i have to turn the key forward to the run position and jump a wire
from the battery to the purple wire going to the starter than it starts.has anyone else ran into this problem?
or does anyone have any suggestions? thank you.
Has the car had the ignition recall installed?
This introduces an extra relay in that purple wire and has, even then, been known to give problems(with the new relay).
The relay is introduced to reduce the current flowing through the ignition switch and wiring--the high current previous to the recall could damage the ignition switch components or the purple wire.

So, you could have:-
1. A burnt ignition switch
2.Damaged/burnt purple wire
3.Bad relay---if the recall has been done
Just some thoughts
