The other day I drove back to my apartment, and withing two hours I went outside to leave and my car would not start. Everything else in the car has power. I got my friend to try to jump me and nothing. I'v checked all of the major connections and fuses and all are fine. So now I'm trying to figure out if it is something small before I call a mechanic to come tow my car. Here is what it does exactly: I turn the key to on and the dash and radio come on, then I turn the ignition and and I hear a loud click and a very low pitched humming. Any ideas?
Your battery is possibly 4 years-old...
Pull it and go someplace like AutoZone and have it checked...
Won't cost you anything....
And, next, see if you pull the starter will they check it for free ? ....
(BTW, in today's automotive world, you have to buy a starter with solenoid, it could be
just the solenoid, but they don't sell these separately.)
ok, despite the fact that I think the battery is fine Ill take it to get tested
