P0107 and P0496

P0107 - Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
P0496 - Evaporative Emission System High Purge Flow

So, these are the 2 codes I've gotten. I have HP Tuners I used to check them with and then cleared them to see if and when they would pop back up. Some background info: I've gotten the 0496 code a lot for quite a while, but people first told me it's nothing, probably just a loose gas cap. Well I've made sure to tighten my gas cap, and let it click like 6 or 7 times and still get it. I don't get it all the time, but it is fairly often. I talked to Shifted on here and he said even if it's not that it shouldn't be anything serious so I didn't think too much about it. Then, about a month or so ago I went out to start my car after shopping in this store (so not the first time I started the car in the day) and it idled really strangely, and then died on me when I put it in gear. I tried to start it again and it did the same stuff, I might have started to move this time, but it bogged down and died. Happened maybe one more time before I finally got it to work right. But even then it would stutter or hesitate some. My check engine light was on this whole time even before it happened so I just figured it was the same annoying 0496 code, but then I checked the codes and it had this new one, 0107 and the 0496. But then I cleared the codes and they didn't come back and it worked fine. I didn't have any more problems til last night I was driving down the highway then I turned off into this parking lot to turn around and when I started to turn back onto the highway it hesitated and bogged down really bad and then died. I started it back up and it did the same thing like 2 or 3 times. Then I hooked up my laptop with hp tuners to try to see what was going on, but of course that time it worked fine with no problems...and no problems since. Maybe the time it took me to hook up the laptop and get it ready gave it enough time to work, i dunno. But anyway, I checked the codes and got both of them again.

In case it helps to know my setup, I have the GM supercharger kit, aem cai, magnaflow catback. With the GM s/c kit it has a 2.5 bar map sensor. I do have an aem wideband hooked up, and a lot of times the bogging and dieing happened fast enough that I didn't get a good look at the ratio..but when I did it usually seemed pretty normal. If it was ever different from normal, it was when I was just idleing. Like one time it said 10.0, which I believe is as rich as it will read, so it could have even been richer. But other times it would say in the 13's, or closer to normal. The only times I noticed it appear lean is if it jumped back and forth (which sometimes that happens in normal conditions) or when I was on the highway the first time after this incident when it would hesitate just a little, it would go lean for a second.

I've read up on other posts about P0107 and when people tried replacing their map sensors it didn't seem to help. Unfortunately, neither of the 2 times this happened did I have hp tuners hooked up, so I don't know what the map readings were. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot.

Have you checked your connections on the map sensor? The hose as well?

I just checked the connections and it looks like it might be ok but not sure..the reason I say might is because I'm using a breather filter coming off the crank case pressure release valve, and it kind of looks like some oil may have came off of that and got around the connections. I'm going to try to clean that and plug it back in, but I have to go to work now so it'll be later. But, I'm still wondering if it could be something else based on other posts I've seen about the 0107 code. Thanks

Oh yeah, as far as a hose, I don't think there is one with how the eco and s/c kit is set up...the map sensor just connects directly to the intake manifold...or are you talking about something else?

Just a little bit of knowledge, oil doesn't conduct electricity.

Yeah, that's why I said I would try cleaning the area, but there wasn't much there so I was thinking it might not be the problem. Also, from what I've read, most of the time when people have problems with the 0107 code, it's related to something else other than the map sensor, so I was looking for ideas.
