OK. ive got a 96 2.2 3spd. auto sedan. for a while now ive been having problems when i start the vehicle sometimes it will start fine, sometimes it will start and run rough, and sometimes it will start and shut off. in order to get it to start you have to kick the left kick panel where there are 2 plugs. a green and a blue. once you kick this you can usually get the car to start and when it does usually it will idle at either 600 or 900 RPM. does anyone know what is causing this. or what wire could be causing this. also. ive driven 100 miles on 3/4 tank of gas. so for some reason i think the 2 are tied in to each other. i figure its a bad connection at a plug for the fuel pump maybe?? but im not sure. ive taken the kick panel out and peeled the carpet back, started the car. and started pulling on wires with no avail. please soemone i need help fixing this. i have no idea what to do short of a dealer. thanks.
That plug contains the wiring that goes to the fuel pump. Make sense now?
i know that. i dont know what wire it is. as i said i pulled on every wire in the plug and i get nothing.
Only have info on my '93, but if it helps---the Fuel Pump wire is GREY
Splice S173 joins the Fuel pump relay and the oil pressure switch inputs at the L.H. rear of the engine compartment.
The single GREY wire now continues to the Bulkhead connector C100--Pin G8 (Upper L.H. side of dash)-----
------to Connector C200--Pin H1(Behind the Instrument Panel near the L.H. shroud[This is the connector you are talking about ,I think]-----
-------then back to the Fuel Pump.
Might be worth checking the Fuel Pump ground, as well [If you haven't already]. On mine it's G302--- under the drivers seat.
