i wasnt racing, i justed started the car like normal...put it into reverse to take off and i heard some kind of noise coming from under the hood...sence then, its gotten louder and now the battery is dead for w/e reason so it wont start..battery and the alternator are brand new
how do i fix if i can, and would it be worth to save the engine or just buy a new one

, or just get a new car?
First, take it to a mechanic to determine if you really threw a rod, for all you know you could have a bad motor mount.
Go from there, if you threw a rod, and you drove with it like that, then your motor is most likely toast. However, if you did throw a rod, your motor would either lock up, or the rod would snap and put a hole in the block. It could also be a bad bearing that would cause noise on the rod, if so, I would stop driving it immediately. 8 out of 10 times, if you throw a rod or rod bearing, at the very least the bottom end needs to be rebuilt, but its typically easier to just replace the motor (and cheaper).

Shifted has helped me out lots but I through a rod in my 95 grand am and nothing broke else where it was just a matter of changing the rod and all was good. But again if you drove it you could have scored up cylinders and what not so best bet get under it and look for holes and if nothing send to mechanics shop.
