I have a 01 Z manual with a SPEC Stage 2 clutch and SPEC lightweight flywheel. I have just under 60K miles, and the clutch has been on almost a year, or about 10K miles. In the last month or so I have been getting a grinding sound when i pull way from a stop and 1-2nd shift some times. It gets a little better when it heats up but it doesn't go away any more. At first i thought it was just the performance clutch being really cold but its gotten worse with out a change in driving.
I am just asking for some thoughts on what could be happening and if I should go have it checked out. Thanks.

Until you open the transmission, there's no way to tell...
I'd suspect the cluster gear is burred and grinding...
Do you know what kind of shop I should go to in order to have it looked at? Find a trans specialty shop, Chevy dealer, all around repair shop? I really dont want to pay a whole lot to just have it looked at.
