First, if this is in the wrong forum please move it. Ok, I just did the DRL mod on my 05 cav. The problem I am having is the service light is comming on and staying on. I have checked the grounds and they are completely secure. Any ideas of why this is happing. I appreciate the help. Thanks guys.
When I put the car in drive, the DRL light in the cluster flashes and then sets off the service light. While it flashes the headlights also flash. Any ideas? Im not sure what else to try?
Well, I dont know how much help I can give for ya, For DRL mod, My DRL used to flash for me when one of my headlights was burnt out. I am guessing if youre head lights arent burnt out, Their is a problem with the DRL mod you did. Something is not working properly. Try and look at youre connections, Make sure they are right, If not just put back youre DRL stock way.
Good Luck.
You most likely grounded out the wrong wire. I know this may sound stupid but DOUBLE CHECK. to make sure you got the Dark blue wire grounded. When I did mine i almost got the wrong wire.
But yea it sounds to me like you just got the wrong wire grounded.

I rechecked it, I have the dark blue wire grounded. All of the grounds are secure.Any other ideas? I cant go back to having the DRLs on because I am putting in a HID system.
eh...Its been a while since I put HIDs in my car but I do remember having to ground out the ebrake wire becuase that same thing would happen when I took the ebrake off. But once I grounded it everything has worked fine since.
Are the DRL's still on?,
Are you sure you grounded the wire coming out of the harness and not the other end you cut( The part no longer attached to the harness.
Did you use the same ground? Possibly move the grounded part of the wire around, if it works then sand off some paint and remount the ground.

The DRLs flash a few times then go off. I did ground the wire from the harness. I grounded it on the OBD2 hook up. Im lost!!! I appreciate all the help so far.
Have you tried to take the harness ground off the OBD2 hook up and ground it to the chassis or some other known good ground?
