Saturday, December 23, 2006 11:10 AM
In my day, I have owned alot of beaters. And only the beaters I have owned collected frost on the INSIDE of the windows. But, now my 03 Cav is basted with frost on the inside of the windows. Anyone have a solution to avoiding this??? Or is my Cav now a beater?

Thanks
adam

Its not that youre car is a beater its cause of cold temps outside. Cavaliers are not well insulated, I get a frost build up on my front windshield if its really cold out. Its just the way the design cavaliers are. My 01 cavalier does it as well. All you can do is allow youre car to warm up, Blast the defrost heat its gone.

Good Luck.

the same thing happens with my sunfire. when it's really cold outside my inside front window would get very fogged up. even with the defroster on full blast it will take a good 3 to 5 minutes for it to be all gone. should be noted i've never had this problem with my 92 oldsmobile ciera or a new montana van. it's just one of those things you have to endure with these cheap ass cars. anyways one way to get around it is install a remote starter and before you leave your car turn on the defroster. let it idle for 5 minutes or so and by the time you get to your car your windshield should be fine.

It is not really a fog in the inside. It is THICK frost. The defrost heat takes a LONG LONG time to get it, and it drips down as it melts.

Basically, i gotta use the ice scrapper on the inside of my window.

But yah, it is a cheap ass car

Sounds like a more serious problem but I cant pinpoint exactly what. I beleive it has something to do with your cooling system, or the evap, hell I dont know. I'll think about it.

But you shouldnt have actual Frost on your window, I left my window down when it was cold out and that happened to me too.

the only time it happens on my car is when i have people inside the car who don't tap there feet together and get most of hte snow off there shoes, then it melts makes the carpet wet and it becomes humid in the car when you park the car it gets cold and all the moisture in the air turns into frost on the windows, feel the carpet under the floor mats and try investing in some rubber floor mats and tapping your feet together when you get in the car

Its depends on where the cold is, My friends 00 sunfire GT has a frost build up in his car when he parks at my house when its cold, When he parks at his house in his garage (car port). No forst build up. It all depends on the area and condenesation, Builds up But look at the stock interiors on cavaliers arent the most highend. Now if high BMW or Lexus wouldnt have that issue, Its possible though. I dont think its anything to worry about.
