ok guys im just making a new topic because its easier 2 explain my problem this way. i have a 97 2.2 ohv it cranks over but will not fire i messed around with it for about 30 minutes this morning and it finally started it has done this before but not this bad. i just replaced the altenator starter battery fuel filter pcv valve plugs wires and belt it all need replaced and i was hoping that it would solve the problem. it ran fine for two weeks until this morning i need to check for spark and fuel pressure but i think that is both fine. so pretty much im lost!! i also have a remote start that doesnt work anymore when you hit the switch to start it nothing happens but the lights flash and the fuel kicks on but then if you start the car with the key it wont start until you hit the botton on the key fob again then it starts right up im just wondering if that might have anything to do with my problem??? you guys have never failed me before i just hope someone can help i trust you guys and thanks for all the help you have given me!!!
thanks cale!!
Sounds like the remote starter wiring is mucked up to me. Get it wired correctly and I'll bet that fixes all these problems.
Pretty sure it's passlock. Remote start + passlock = PITA.

hmm never thought about passlock isnt that the anti theft stuff???
well now i have been messing with it a little more now when you turn the key the fuel pump wont even turn on so im guessn its shot!
I would check to see if the GM anti-theft function has activated. Second look to see if the PCM is getting a cam signal.

The passlock will cut the fuel pump, thats how it makes sure nobody steals your car

So did you check to see if your fuel pump relay is working?

fuel pump relay is fine its almost like its a glitch because lights one the dash flicker on and off every once n a while
i took the icm off and had it tested and its fine but the wiring harness that plugs into it is the 1 i used for my rksport tach adapter and im wondering if theres not a wiring touching somwhere and it causing a short
how do you get rid of the passlock??
Using a test light check to see if your getting power and signal in the harness leading to your fuel pump.
