Hey everyone. Im trying to change the oil pump in my 2200 cavalier. I was just wondering if anyone was able to remove the 2 bolts underneath the engine mount bracket without taking it off. The Haynes manual says it has to come off but dosent give much information about how thats done. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

everything that lists in the haynes manual, Is pretty much needed to do, in order to get the pan off, Once the oil pan is off you are able to get the oil pump off, Its pretty straight forward.
Good Luck

well it was worth a shot. How did you get the mount bracket off? i see 3 bolts on the back of the engine and 1 behind the a/c compressor. I can get to those bolts but they wont budge, i cant get much leverage on them. Im gonna try it again during the week. Anyone got any tips so i can get this done easily? thanks

Just spray alot of lube on the bolts. You may need a breaker bar or a small piece of pipe to slide over ratchet. Just make sure you dont over crank it. The bolt will snap. Everything should work out for you.
Good Luck.
Thanks for the help. Ill try again tonight after work. Thanks for the tips everyone.
