Have a 96 Z24, I realized my car was doing bad on gas and I wanted to figure out why. I set my trip meter to zero and came to find out i was only getting 130 miles per tank. What can i do to improve this. Change gas filter and get a fuel system cleaning for $100?
when it comes to boobs i need a girl with bad grades cause im tired of all the ones walking around with straight a's
Lots of things can cause bag MPF.
Is your CEL on by chance.
Otherwise, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, PCV valve, are a good place to start.
I work at a dealership and dont like doing the fuel system cleaning for $119.95
I dont think it does a whole lot, plus you run the risk of breaking free the particles stuck in the fuel rail and having them clog the injector pin holes.

I dont have any cel and i changed the plugs and insulators which i guess is equal to changinging the wires!

How hard do you drive your car? How fast do you drive? Is the engine running rough? Does it blow black/grey smoke? Does it have any funky smells from the exhaust?
Seriously only 130 miles? How many gallons of gas did you put back in after that?
Try doing a fuel injection cleaning with
SeaFoam or the Valvoline VP071 3 Part fuel fuel system treatment. I prefer the Seafoam treatment because its about $7.99 at Napa, compared to the $69.99 for the Valvoline treatment. I have used both (
see here) and they seem to work the same, cept the seafoam smokes a hell of a lot more. You should do this about every 30,000 miles, I do mine every oil change.
Fuel filter may be a huge part of it, or if your air filter is clogged or dirty, that will cause you to have really crappy gas mileage. Low/improperly inflated tires will cut down MPG as well.

I will try the sea foam and a fuel filter. By the way how long was your car smoking like that?

It smokes really bad for about 10 - 15 minutes (more if its dirty, less if its clean). It smells very bad too, keep your windows up so it dont get in the car.
Incase you don't know, here is the best way to run seafoam.
1. Warm up the engine, then shut it off
2. Disconnect the brake booster line
3. Put a small funnel in the line (tranny funnel works best)
4. Start the engine, it will idle high because the booster is disconnected
5. Poor the seafoam in very slow, if you go to fast you can hydro-lock the engine
6. poor 3/4 of the can in, then shut the engine off (sometimes it will still run for 5 seconds)
7. Reconnect the booster. Poor the rest in the gas tank, then wait 15 minutes.
8. Start the engine, let it idle for 1-2 minutes, then do several rev to 3,000 rpm
9. Go for a nice drive, make sure to drive it like you stole it

10. Go back home and listen to the neighbors complain
Here is a short video of a seafoam on a Honda if you want to see how it works.

where is the brake line booster located on the 2.4l motor

If you are looking at the engine bay, the brake booster line in located on the left (pasenger) side of the brake booster. The brake booster is located on the right (drivers) side of the engine bay bolted to the firewall. These pictures suck, but its the best I can find... If anyone else has a better shot, please post it up.
There is a "L" shaped plastic piece that goes into the booster, dont remove that, take the rubber line off that.
Hope that helps
ok, here is something that you need to look at also. make sure the gauge is even working right. how much fuel does it take to fill up? i had to change out my fuel pump and as you know it comes with a new sending unit and ever since then i can drop the bottom out of "e" on my fuel gauge and fill up on only 11 gallons, now i have a 15.2 (i think) gallon tank so there is about 4 gallons of fuel left. that maybe your problem right there, but what every body else has said would be a good place to look too.
I think a very important question is how many miles does your car have and have you ever changed your O2 sensor? My last car was getting 11-13 MPG on a shot O2.
