hey guys, when i get outta my car my seat belt dosent get pulled back into the interior trim very well, so i kinda have to feed it back into the trim so it dosent get stuck in my door or something.
neways i just wanted to know if i am in need of a new tensioner, or what. can the old one be cleaned up/adjusted? also if i need to replace the tensioner how do i go about replacing one??
Very good question, one I never thought to ask but concerns an issue that annoys me every day. I hope someone replies.

Did a quick search and managed to find a thread about it
HERE. I'll try this sometime this weekend, probably Friday. If you want pictures I could try and get some for you.

very good question, and i have the same problem, i am hoping that if i take the trim off a good cleaning might do it. I'm going to wait till what people says about it first. Good job guys
hey James, if you get around to it, pics would be great. i dont know my way around interiors too well, at least not without breaking things. you could say that i have a heavy hand and am short on patience. so pics to help stop me from doing something involving me getting uneccesarily broken interior pieces would be great.
I'll snap some pics when I do it then. It is a 'vert so the interior is a bit different but should be similar.

lucky, i wish i had a vert
i make sure it doesnt get twisted....goes back jsut fine

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
I think my issue is mainly with it being a 'vert and all the dust that gets in the car means that there's probably alot in the seat-belt tensioner as well.

Well, looks like I'm stalled until I can get that door-sill trim off. No matter what I do I can't get the screws out so I'm stuck until I can decide what to do.

you cant get the door sill trim pieces off?? idk what to say. im having much more important engine issues right now so i have had to put my seatbelt tensioners on hold for a while.....anyways if/when i get around to the seatbelt things anytime soon, ill let you know what i find.
Well, whoever did the screws must've either used lock-tite or they've just gotten stuck in there due to vibrations and dirt. I might have to wait til I get home so I can use my dad's impact/screwdriver (hit with hammer, turns the screw) to get it off. If not I'll get some new screws and drill them out one of these days.

hey bud, hopefully the cav is very similar to my 04 sunfire, start by taking out the rear seats, completly, not sure if you have 60/40 but its held in by clips at the sides and then slide out. Then remove the upper anchor cover for the s/b, then remove the hanger thing, the next hardest to do is remove the seat belt anchor, it has lock tight so make sure you have a snug torx bit and alot of leverage, its in there pretty tight. then just pull the piece off, i started from the back window and went down. Careful of the clips then i think thats it...
