First time here. Looking for advice. My situation is this. When I start my car and turn on my lights sometimes my headlights won't come on. All the other lights are on and working. Signals, parking, interior, but no headlights. Now when I turn the light switch off I hear a noise as if I hit the button for my power door locks go off. As well when the light switch is on and I try to use my wipers nothing happens, but when I turn the light switch off and try to use my wipers I hear a buzzing noise while holding the wiper arm down to temporarily activate them. One other thing is if I leave the car running and the light switch turned on sometimes the headlights come on by themselves without me doing anything. Anyone have any ideas?? Bad relay, faulty wiring?? It's weird and puzzling me. Any help would be appreciated.
And I guess your wondering which vehicle right??? lol
It's a 2001 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L all stock options no mods or anything.
Could be a problem with the headlight switch. Day time running lights work?.
Yes the day time running lights work. As it stands now the problem was solved. Finally gave in and took it to a GM shop to fix it. The mechanic told me that it was a good problem, one that he'd never come across till now LOL. He said it had to do with a bad ground near the battery. Which happened to be affecting the wipers and headlights and feeding back through the power door lock on the driver side. Really strange. Anyway he said he cleaned up the contacts and re-installed the ground wires in some sort of junction box up near the battery, forget what he called it now. So the problem is solved and hopefully stays solved. Also I hope this might help in time with someone else if they come across the same symptoms I ran in to. Thanks for the reply too.
