Sunfires heater motor blows fuses.........

Mother in laws 97 Sunfire heater is blowing fuses left and right!!!!!!!!!! Fan motor seems ok, any ideas before the cold from out west hits our summer weather here in Toronto!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Marty

It blows fuses for one reason only. A short circuit.

This means the wire is going to ground before going to the load ( blower fan) in the circuit.

Heres how you find a short. Get a circuit breaker for whatever amprage the fuse is. Put that in place of the fuse.

Now there will be connectors going from the fuse box to the heater fan, it doesnt go stright there.

You need to find those connectors, actually you need a wiring diagram.

You first disconnect the first connector in line, than turn on the fan.

Does the fuse blow, if yes the shrot is between the fuse box and the first connector. If no, plug that connector back in and disconnect the second connector, then again turn the fan on, does it blow, if yes the short is between connector #1 and #2.

Follow that procedure, from the fuse box going to the heater fan, you find the short.
