Signs of bad gas?

What would be a sign of bad gas?...I'm trying to figure out if I need to drop my tank.

My car was sputtering...So I replaced the fuel filter, it drove fine for about 50m or so...then all of the sudden it started sputtering real bad again. It would sputter anytime I would step on the gas, or anything above 2K RPMs as long as I was very light on the gas it was pretty much ok, but not always. Is this a sign of bad gas, is the FPR going bad???ANY HELP is greatly appreciated

well before you start messing with stuff....try some REALLY good gas like mobil or sunoco. run a full tank through and see if it still does it.

i found that the gas station down the street used to sell real @!#$ty gas....so now i jsut go to known name places and car runs liek a champ

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

Frequent flatulations followed by a rotten egg smell.

It doesn't smell bad....and it's sputtering so badly, I don't want to drive it, it has a very hard time getting up to speed, and it seems to be a lack of fuel.....that's why I think it's bad/very dirty gas, but I'm unsure..........does this sound right or are these symptoms of something else?

i had the same problem and tried tune ups and fuel filters and what it ened up being was the spark plugs and they looked fine when I replaced them. So they are pretty cheap and easy to replace (on the eco atleast). So that is the advice I can give you

Your local auto supply probably carries "Heet"...

It will amalgamate water in the gasoline and allow
the water to eventually mix enough with gasoline
to burn itself away...

(Hope it's something this simple.)

Use either a can of seafoam pour it in ur fuel or buy a bottle of every isoproply alcohol for 70 cents and do the same the alcohol will absorb the water and it will absolutely not hurt ur car bc the product mentioned above heet is nothing more than isoproply alcohol just read the label on the back of it and it cost a buck or more than what I suggested, any drug store or walmart carries it in the first aid section.

[It would sputter anytime I would step on the gas, or anything above 2K RPMs as long as I was very light on the gas it was pretty much ok, but not always.]

Ignition problems can also give those symptoms, as Pass the J has suggested. As the throttle is opened and the pressure increases in the cylinder the effective spark plug gap increases----hence light on the gas does not break down the ignition fault.

The old Champion spark plug tester was connected to an air supply to increase the pressure and test for breakdown.

Just a thought

I'm sticking with the fuel pump if the problematic gas is burned off, and the same results are insued...
