BLAZER FUEL PUMP QUESTIONS, PLEASE HELP QUICK!
Tuesday, November 14, 2006 2:17 PM
03 sunfire 5 speed, with a bad fuel pump, only 70,000 miles, I have read about the blazer fuel pump swap but my question is will it work on a stock engine or will it flow too much? I will be doing performance i/e/h, someday but for now its totally stock. My Father is a very experienced mechanic and I know we can do the swap, I just need to know if it will work correctly, or will it casue my car to run rich or anything like that?

Thanks for any responses!

Will

It should not cuase you to run rich, unless your fuel pressure regulator is pooched. I've heard a number of other odd things about the blazer pump though - like needing to mod the fuel can, it being noisy, and it not sucking the tank dry (craps out at 1/8 tank)).

I'm in the same boat right now - if you get it done, let me know how it goes!

Huh, well I just went to check my car and it started right up, so apparently its something in the wiring, but I can't figue out whats wrong with it until it decides not to work again... maybe this cold weather has something to do with it... any ideas?

Fuel pumps usually go slowly - don't drive it far! Generally it qill quit, and if you bang on the tank it will work for a little while then quit again.
