Is this easy to replace?

hey guys, my check engine light went on and I got it check out at AutoZone. The code I got was P0141.

Checked the sticky thread and found it is this P0141 HO2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 2.

Its a sensor, so hopefully this is to replace. Can someone tell me is this a easy sensor to replace? If so, where is this located?

thanks.

The code is telling you O2 sensor #2 near the cat is no long working, Its ready to be replaced with a new one. Changing this sensor isnt to bad of a job, You just need a O2 socket to remove this part, Any local auto parts store should carry it, If youre gonna do the job youre self, I would allow you car to run for about 30-40 secs, So that its easier to undo the O2 sensor.

Good Luck.

Hot sensor is easier to get out, but harder to handle. Careful you don't burn yourself.

Before changing the sensor, check the cat. Also, that sensor is USELESS. If you want to throw money out the window, at least send it this way.

It's cheaper to buy an O2 sim, and just scrap the cat if/when it goes south.

Try this: Replace the sensor, check what the CAT is putting out via the sensor (really there to watch over the CAT's performance). The OE cat is junk, clogs easily. Be prepared to buy a new one, maybe. Try the aftermarket, namely a high-flow CAT. Sensor is a must IF you wanna pass emmission inspections. I've heard of O2 sims getting caught 'cause the readings aren't fluctuating.

read the code guys. it's the heater performance, not the sensor itself. i mean, granted the heater is in the sensor so you do have to replace the sensor but it's not because it's giving a bad reading or because the cat isn't doing it's job. it's because the heater isn't warming up the sensor the way it should so it can start reading as fast as it should. just get the sensor and slam it in. it's a 5 minute job.
