hey guys, im having some problems with my 95 cavalier and was wondering if you can give me some info. once in a while my car wont start, and its because the fuel pump isnt working. if i unplug the connection to the pump and replug it in, it starts priming and will start right up. ive replaced the pump twice now so i know thats not the problem. any help is greatly appreciated.

When you disconnect and reconnect the plug you may be either
making a better connection within the plug contacts (they may need to be cleaned)
or moving the wires enough to improve the ground connection for the pump.
If your wiring is the same as my '93 the connector is C313, contact A3 has a Black wire in it going to a splice/junction S331 and on to the Ground point G302 (On the floor behind drivers seat) You may need to clean this ground point.
I suppose you could also have damaged wiring which is making a better contact when you move it by plugging and unplugging.
Just some thoughts

I agree with Alont. First thing to try is spraying some electrical contact cleaner into that connector, lubing it up with dielectric grease, and putting it back together. I'd also look closely to see if there are any damaged wires, and/or a loose ground connection.
tried the cleaning and dielectric grease first...still not working right. have to take a look at the ground. thx
