ok my 01 has this half-ass sony head unit install, and the thing is a real POS.
it eats CDs so im fixing to either throw a different head unit in there or a factory CD.
are there any aftermarket head units with an IPOD jack on them ? ( not using a modulator)

That half ass Sony deck can use a 3.5mm to RCA converter probably ($5 at ratshack). Most Sony decks have RCA inputs.
Pioneer has a few cd players with the jack on the face plate. Check their home site to find out which one, I believe the Premier 680 was the one I was looking at for the same reason. I just don't remember off hand.
i saw one at curcuit city for like 79.99 and it had an aux jack on the front, maybe i'll give that a try, this sony is trash.

Sony decks are actually pretty good IMO. I swear by Sony and I've ONLY bought Sony Xplod decks..I've had one in every car I've owned.
I expect you're talking about the "Ipod Link" cable or whatever..or are you just talking about the RCA auxillary input?
