Just wondering what I should check to try and figure out a high idle problem.
When the car is simply idleing wether at a light or stop sign or whatever, the car will idle at 1100-1200 rpm all the time, both when the car is cold and once it is at normal operating temp.
There is no check engine light on (CEL code)
Is it possible that the AC compressor may have something to do with this? Reason I ask is it seams if I put the AC on (wich doesn't work, but I turn knob switch to defrost the windsheild wich turns on the AC) it seems to make the car idle a little rough and the rpms go to 1200-1400rpm. Could the pulley be seized causing the engine to idle higher to compensate?
gotta love used cars... buying somebody elses problems... lol
Thanks again!

look for loose vacuum lines around the TB first. also, check the large vacuum line going in to the brake booster.
next is the IAC and TPS sensors in the TB.
the next check is to spray something like WD-40 where the intake mani meets the head, and around the injectors. if the motor "bogs down" , this will tell you if the intake mani gasket, or injector o-rings are bad.

Thanks FReQ Z, I will check that stuff in the morning when the sun's back up...
