Well.... sure enough, 2 weeks after my bumper to bumper warranty expires something starts to annoy me. My fan, on all speeds, all temps, regardless of where it is blowing... makes a ticking sound. Almost as if something is stuck a blade and it continueously slapping something. This ticking sounds varies with the speed... so i am thinking something is stuck on one of the blades.
How do i fix this????
any links with pictures? simple solutions?
yeah mine does it too. the way to fix it is to reach over, right above your shifter, there are 2 knobs turn the top one clockwise and the radio volume goes higher, that fixes it for me
^ That's how I fix all my squeaks and rattles too!
I'd visually inspect if for anything that may be stuck in it. If not, turn up the radio.
I guess you could get a new one, but don't fix anything until it breaks.
bastards...
i am trying to avoid my car entering the typical beater status of majority of J's out there
Hey Crazy Dude, I have the exact same problem with my 03 Cavalier. I singled it out one day when I turned the fan speed knob to "off", and the ticking sound ended. Still drives me crazy, but I figure it's coming from the fan inside the HVAC box, and I definately don't want to screw that up. If it makes you feel any better, my gf's 2005 Malibu does the exact same thing.
