2.2 motor swap (help)

ok i have 2 cavys both got the 2.2s ok first is a 95 plain coupe no tack 3 speed auto no power well exept the sun roof (head gasket shot) and the other is a 97 rs with tack 4 speed auto all power (bodys messed up) ok my questions are what do i got to swap besides motor and tranny i was told id have to swap the wire harness and computer and all that and this, and some said just motor and tranny im thinkin on tryin to do this my self wiring is whats gunna give me problems. also can i swap the dash out so i can keep the stock tack with out alot of complications any info will help im just wondering what i might be gettin my self into thanks

then i believe yes, you need to swap engine, wiring, trans, cluster, i.e. everything. i may be wrong, and if i am, someone should correct me.

nope motors are interchangeable, just need to swap over some sensors from the 95( I just put a 97 motor in my 95). trans will require wire harness & ecu swap, cluster is just plug and play no mods to wiring required

ok cool is there like a right up on what sensors or a walk through or something cause i want to get it done right the first time and i really dont trust on takin it in to have it done

If I remember right none of the 97 sensors will fit the 95 harness(knock-oil pressure, ignition module) I just sat the motors side by side removed all the 97 stuff then put on all the 95 stuff. also you may have to switch oil pans my 95 had a oil level sensor that the 97 pan did not have a provision for.

ok cool im gunna start pullin @!#$ in a week or so how long it take u to do the swap , a weekend?

about 8 hours total 97 motor was already pulled
