Hey guys, i just had an alarm/remote starter put on my car, and found that the door jam switch (makes the lights come on when u open the door) on my drivers side is dead...i bought a new one, but im not sure how i get to it to remove the old one....98 sunfire 2 door and its the drivers side i need to replace....anyone know?
im watching this one. mine is gone too. i havent been able to access it from the back and havent had too mucht ime to look at it yet. if i found out i will let you know, and maybe have pics for it too to help you along.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
Yank on it, it'll come out. Then just unclip the harness and instal the new one!
well the description wasnt very good in my opinion.....but i finally figured it out....
I used pliers to pull the old switch out, and then...
1) removed the plastic liner beside the seat (runs along the bottom of the door up to the hood release)
2) unscrewed the hood release switch and popped it out of the way
3) just above where the hood release is, is a plastic piece that pops out, reaching through it i found the wire for the jam switch, i maneuvered it so it was at the hole, and plugged the new sensor in
4) popped the new sensor in GENTLY
5) when closing the door it adjusted the length of the sensor i guess because it made a crunching sound, but the sensor was ok
Works like a charm now, and the alarm/remote starter works perfectly. Thanks for the info, ill try and take a pic of where u access the wire for those who cant figure it out like ME lol
