The answer to are they the same is..... depends on the year. let me know what exactly your driving and can definitively answer that.

Heres a better question why do you think youve got an O2S problem??? the pre and post cat sensors are used for entirely different purposes, and dont cause the same issues. In fact the most the rear(after cat) sensor can do is turn on your CEL. its technically just a monitoring device, not a control input.

I already spoke with Mark privately on the subject, and on the '04 they are the same Cavgold. Your car doesnt use a heated sensor in position one Cavgold thats why there is the large price diff.

Brad,
Seen your reply to another o2 sensor question. Thought you might be able to help with mine. I have 98 2.4 cavavlier. Is it possible for the 02 sensor to short out and cause poor running conditions? 1st thought i might have had clogged cat converter , because it was cherry red last time i drove it. I have cleaned cat out. Car idles ruff and like its starving for fuel. Still smells real rich like its getting to much gas. Maybe Icm is bad. I have replaced that already. I had replaced 2nd bank 02 sensor already once. Thought about puuting in 02 simulators but the dont make them any more. Any idea....................????

Andrew
