Hey my wife let her oil change go little over few times and now the car has quit running i think it jumped time but it is at dealer and they say the oil passages are plugged what does this take to fix the easiest way? If warranty doesnt cover teh repairs i will have to do them. The motor turns over freely. Just stopped at the store came back out and wont crank

If Abroken timing will lock up the engine since the ECOTEC is an "interference" engine which means when cam timing is off(or inoperative) the valves WILL strike the piston faces and can lock up engine.
How do you clean oil passages??? with cleaning brushes, solvent and a elbow grease or a strip and a dip in cleaner at your machine shop. Its highly unlikey(nearly impossible) that if the engine cranks over that blocked oil passages are keeping it from running.

Hey thanks for the info. The dealership is saying that the passages are plugged and it will need new lifters. The motor last week would sporatically rev high when you stopped. Then i added lucas injector cleaner and it started idleing too low at times. then it failed to start.

Needs lifters??? wow that would be a first, it is possible though if they all collapsed. All the valves would stay closed or not open enough and would fail to run.

Just for a reference I have NEVER seen an ECOTEC in the 7 model years theyve been around need lifters.(or ONLY need lifters...ie head valve/damage is always involved)

Thanks if the lifters were bad would they make a noise? The engine was running quiet just had slight miss at idle last week or so. The check engine light had came on and i went to autozone they said it was a rich signal. That was right before i tried the injector cleaner

if ur lifters were going you would hear then tapping for sure. the miss was probably caused by dirty injector, back ignition coil, bad wires or bad plug. and if the engine cranks freely im betting one of the things i mentioned is not functioning.
