Winter, Lowered, Body Kit, Flat Tire = ?
Thursday, October 19, 2006 9:58 AM
Just wondering what others have thought of in this situation. My car sits about 4 1/2"s off of the ground and I'll be driving it in winter. I have a couple of pieces of cut up plywood and two 14" long 2x4's cut sitting in my trunk in case I get a flat. I pray to God that I never do, since if I did get a flat I think that my body kit would get trashed.

What have others done for a flat tire situation?

Move somewhere that it doesn't snow?

I think that is why most people that live in places like that have a winter beater.

fix a flat is not intended for z rated tires (check the can)

your kit wont be trashed if you get a flat. is your sidewall bigger than 4 1/2"? if you get a flat just drive it up on the blocking and then change it w/ the factory jack. w/ my car lowered like 2 1/2" inches i can still get the factory jack under the car and clear the side skirt still

You could always go to like Autozone or something and pick up the coil spring boosters. They are rubber blocks that push spring coils apart...its a temporary lift, basically...

A. winter beater
or
B. remove body kit/rims and roll around stock for winter (like i do).

no sense being a free snow plow and messing up my kit and rims.

I used to just remove the front and go back to stock wheels like cannon said. Def worth the time to save 100's of dollars in repairs and repaints
