I got a lead on a low mileage 3400 that I'm going to be picking up next week.
However, I won't be able to install it until July (that's when I'll have enough time off accrued @ work to get it in... )
Are there any special tips/tricks to storing an engine from now till then (besides covering it w/ a tarp/sheet/etc to keep the dust off)?
If it helps, the garage is not climate controlled...
Spray fogging oil in the cylinders. Make sure you don't drain any of the fluids. Make sure the glycol mix is decent in the coolant, it helps inhibit corrosion (that was helps, not stops). If you can, get something sealed around it and vacuum pack it the best you can.
I've had problems with rodents before, so I highly suggest sealing it up.

I agree, but I would change the oil if it hasn't been done, old oil will have too many corrosives in it, just like you mention with the coolant.
