hey guys i just picked up a cavalier from a dealer certified and etested seems to be in great condition but now that Ive been driving it for a few days i notice that the steering seems to be a little off and when i turn the wheel while moving slowly you can hear a pop sound and once that happens the steering will veer off to that side(hapopens on both) while driving im no brilliant mechanic but it seems like worn tierod ends can anyone confirm this and if the vehicle was safety tested a week ago should this not have been painfully obvious if the test was done corretly and cause the vehicle to fail ?? thanks

Ha! That's a good one. Dealers may not be real slime-balls anymore, but don't give them too much credit.

Safe, well mostly. Cost to fix, alot at a dealer or anything like that. Best to try to find a buddy to help or even try the regional forums. Warrantied becase of 'safety inspeced' probably not unless you found a honest dealer.

It's a $20 part, but you have to take the strut completely off, and it will need an alignment aftward. Most places will charge around $250-$300 to fix it by the time your done with it all.
