hey guys recnetly I noticed a ticking noise when accelerating on my eco. At first the noise was only present when cold...but now it always makes the noise. I have 215 000kms on my 2002 eco. I have not done the timing chain and was wondering if it could do with that or possibly my belts. Thanks for the help
Well with 215 000kms I think you might want to replace youre timing chain, If it breaks its not to good to have happen, You could blow youre engine. Usually with a timing chain you can get away with 200,000 kms. With other cars that have Rubber timing belt, 80,000 to 95,000 kms to be replaced.
Sounds like a bad rod bearing.
Which if it is and the rod goes through the block your out easily $1,500 for another engine which with what sounds like over 200,000 miles on your car i don't know if it would be worth it.
