Well im thinking my alternator is bad ... if it is would it cause the car to misfire ? how is the alternator connected ? it has two connections right ? one that goes the the starter and the other is a sensor ? or im i missing another one ? its a 2.4l
Your alternator wont cause the car to misfire. If you want to test your alternator... start the car, set the brake, pull the
NEGATIVE battery cable off the battery. If it dies, your alternator is bad, if it stays running the alternator is good.
ummmm y the negative? if he disconencts the circuit the car will die anyway

I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.

You dont want a
POWER cable (the red one from the ALT to the battery) being loose and chance hitting a ground... its called common sense.
The car will only die if the alt is bad.
Ok so a bad alt can cause a misfire (learn something new).
also a bad alternator can still run an engine.. if one of the diodes go bad, and it will still run an engine, seen it many many times
Well Juan Morales: This what I would do to test youre alternator, Go buy one of those $20 digital multi Meter, You will get the correct reading on how many volts is running through youre system, I am pretty sure youre mis fire could be due For a tune up plugs wires, Could need a new coil pack, Wiring is loose or damaged on the coils wire harness.
GoodLuck

Agreed,
Or also a clogged injector/ bad injector. The alt is not a case for misifring cause it deals with the charging system only. A power stumble is not the same as a misfire.
...They just HATE it when you ...POINT - LAUGH - then DRIVE OFF AND AWAY-!...
