on my 2000 cavalier(2200 motor 3 speed) i get a grinding noise in the driver front end whenever the wheel slightly turns to that side, it sounds like a rubbing noise, now ive changed my wheel bearing, my tires are balanced, and ive also changed the cv axle but no luck
Brake dust shield hitting the brake rotor??
Easy things to check:
brake dust shield (as previously stated)
plastic inner fender rubbing on wheel
caliper brake hose loose from strut maybe rubbing on rim
plastic inner fender rubbing on cv axle
Harder things to check:
rack moving when turning wheel - bad rack bushings or clamps
bad tie rod end - moving when turning wheel rubs inside rim or dry of grease and grinding when turning
bad ball joint - dry of grease and grinding when turning
Good luck!
ty much im in the process off narrowing it down of the option you gave me
ive got the same exact problem right now. only when its turned slightly left. and it only lasts a second. theres no dust sheilds on our cars, the inner fender isnt rubbing. the only things left for me to check are the hard things.
