Overheating? i Guess so

Ok Guys

the car was running without a thermostat (i dont know for how long) and was turning the check engine light (the code was Inssuficient time in open/closed loop). so i replaced the thermostat with an acdelco thermostat 131-122. we purged the system. but after all that the car seems to runs hot (see the pic)
i hooked up a scanner the the coolant sensor and it was eading 215F
is this normal in these cars? or do i have to check something else

I have the 2.4, but I've read here about purdging the air from the system. Since I've never done it, the best I can say is to search maintenance for 2.2 air bleed screw.

^ what he said. May still be some air trap in the system.

Just allow youre car to idle with the resvioror cap off until youre car warms up, then put the cap back on, My 01 temp runs at that temp. Ive got 2.2L auto. Looks normal to me. I would use 180 thermostat, Might want to try giving youre cooling system a flush treatment, That allows dirt sludge inside youre cooling system to flow better.
