Dash Disassembling for 02 Fire

I'm looking to swap out my cluster with a cluster from a Cavi, I'm growing tired of the red dash more and more everyday, is there anywhere on the net that has a tut for the dash removal?

FYI: I've searched the org, I haven't found any type of tut for it. Please do not flame with a reply such as "search" or "buy a chiltons". I'm looking for a cost-free way.

This is an honest question looking for an honest answer.

Thanks!

Well its pretty straight forward getting the dash apart, First of all you might want to pull the air bag fuse & disconnect the neg battery connection, Once thats done, youre ready to take the dash, I would recommend getting Haynes manual for reference, There will be about 10 screws that hold the dash to gether. first ones are up on top of the dash with the heat vent, U need to remove the vent as well. Then on the drivers & Passenger side their is a U shaped panel those pop out with a flat head screw driver, Undo the screws from there, Then inside the glove box in which you will need a some long deep sockets to get the bolts out the dash bracket. I believe once you get those out, The top part of the dash should just pop off with a little bit of effort. The the cluster will have 6 screws holding it into place, Once those are undo youre cluster should pop out, Ready to be swapped out.

Good Luck

Hey,

The light that lights up my fuel gauge in my 00 sunfire is blown. Is this the same procedure for changing it? Chiltons is not too detailed in this area.

Thanks in advance.
