I have a 95 cav with a 2.2 changing the filters since I just got the car, is there any trick to removing the oil filter Thanks
Either from passenger side, between engine and firewall, or from underneath. Drape a piece of tin foil over the exhaust pipe that runs below the oil filter to keep oil off of it, avoiding the smell of it burning when next you run the engine.

Definitely do the second part. That smell lasts for 2 months usually. I usually do it by jacking up the right tire and bring it through there. What a pain... Still better than Wal-Mart screwing it up.

Thanks for the advice had to get a cup type filter wrench and remove it from the top seems to be the easiest way
Cup type?!?! Well, as long as it works for you. Strap-type works for me, but only just to get it started. Then, a leather work gloved hand to spin it the rest of the way, and out from behind -- open end first.
