ok so i just got my oil pan off and someone told me i could tell if the bearing has spun by looking and the rods can anybosy tell me what im looking for like darkness something along those liines i would really apprecate it

Got the ballance shafts and oil pump out of the way too?

ummm i just took the oil pan off i can see up the block perfectly but need 2 different angles some mechanics told me it might be a timing chain i hear clicking but i thought was infamous #3 bearing but from what i can see it looks just the same as 1,2,and 4 so im thinking thats what it is any input would be great

did you have a water pump done recently? or any timing chain work?


what kind of noise did you hear? you will know for sure if it is a rod bearing... and you likely have to pull the caps off to inspect a couple bearings.. and a spun main bearing could also cause som noise

well i said @!#$ it im got a 2.4 wit 50k for 700 so ime putting that in and gona do the rice mods LOL while i rebuild the other engine i found metel shavings aboout 1-2 inchs long i KNOW thats not good then after thats set ima get boosted
