Unhooking a grand am please help

hey, i no this is off topic. but my grandfather is leasing a 2003 Pontaic Grand Am, Auto. he only has very little mileage left on his lease. he can't afford to buy any.. He only has to keep the car for another 5 months. I was wonderin if you guys no any way that he could unhook the Mileage or the speedometer. thanks alot

NO, and I don't think you will get any help on that topic. IT is ILLEGAL to tamper with the Odometer. If he is that concerned about the mileage then he might aswell stop driving if he isn't willing to pay for being over the mileage.

Plus most cars have multiple places it stores the mileage, not just in the BCM.

A mechanic told me once they usually check the mileage on the ODO against what is stored in the car's computer.

Is it worth going to jail for something so stupid?

N-bodies store the milage in the PCM, BCM, and Cluster.
Just unplug all those and it will not record any milage.

ya guys, maybe i am stupid i dunno. but tell you the truth everybody down here does it... if you lived here you probally would too. you have to drive 2 hours just to get food or anything.. it's a nice quit spot but nothing around. anyways guess there's no way thanks alot.

Just cuz everyone else does it doesnt make it right. I believe this kind of fraud is a felony. And no, I wouldn't do it. I would NEVER lease a vehicle, so I would have no reason to.
