I have a 2001 Cavalier and when I put the car into gear the daytime running lights, light in the dash blinks like 5 or 6 times then the service engine light comes on. Any idea what this might be thanks

Sounds like bulb gone. Next try bulb connector
mine did the same thing when i hit a deer....when i got the car back from getting repaired it was fixed. by the way, both of my bulbs worked even after hiting the deer. sorry, dont think that helped much, just thought i would throw that out there

i never thought a blown bulb would set off a service engine light . i replaced the blown bulb and no more light(knock on wood). yeah joe i did hit a deer but that was like 6 months ago. thanks all
