My gf's car is a 1998 cavalier.. 2.2 OHV engine.. It's being a real bitch to start lately.. It'll turn over, fire up and die right away.. It takes forever to get it started.. Once it is started, it runs really good.. No misses, lots of pickup (for a 22 anyways).. When it's warm, it starts on the 1st or 2nd try.. But if it's been sitting for a while, it takes a lot of tries.. I'm kinda stumped on this one.. I'm thinking dirty fuel filter, but if that was the case, wouldn't the car run crappy all the time? Any suggestions? I have days off work comming up soon, so I want to try to fix this on my own..

Its could be a few of these things thats cause you ththose problems, How long has it been since the car has had a full tune up, Plugs / wires / Air filter / Fuel filter.

Usually those will correct youre problems you are having, It wouldnt hurt getting a fuel pressure test done after you get the fuel filter replaced.

Well, we took the car into Canadian tire.. They ran a few test and found the anti theft was kicking in randomly.. The car does have an aftermarket car starter on it.. But that's been installed for over 2 years now.. Anyways, we're taking it to the local chevy dealer tomorrow.. This sucks...
