On my tan 04 I took a nice mini road trip this weekend, from Chicago to Peoria and back.
2004 ecotec 5-speed base modle cav, manual trans, me and my girlfrined in the car and a complete stock suspension in the trunk..... on the way there 36.6 mpg!!!!!
on the way back no suspension, a full set of wheels instead and got caught in some stop and go highway traffic for a bit..... 34.9 mpg.
I was really impressed it was that high. What are you guys getting for mileage?
City is around 33mpg for me and highway is 44mpg.
02 4door Z automatic 2.4l 4spd

2.3 Ho
what are J's rated at for mileage? I didn't think it was nearly that high
I dunno, I will have to check my window sticker tomorrow. I am almost positive my '05 cav is 36 hwy. I am currently getting 25 though for a 50-50 mix. Not sure what the deal is...prolly my right foot...

"The Blue Bullet"
my gas mileage suck and i am starting to realize it is just my driving conditions. About 16-18mpg in the City i will see how it does on my highway next week. I went from having about 32-34mpg to about 25mpg on the highway. Things have changed since then so we shall see.

If I use my lean out system set as high as I'm going to set it without having a replacmeent engine ready to go in at. I can get close to 50-55MPG but that's with cruise set on a long trip and the temp guage hangs around 3/4 to the red zone and EGT is as hot as the engine puts out WOT at the redline...if I don't do anything special I see 38MPG HWY about 30 mix but I'm not much of a lead footer...In this car. my 5.3L swap tracker is the one that takes the beating

Best I've ever gotten was about 37 on a trip from Pittsburgh to Ocean City, MD. Managed well over 400mi with 4 of us in the car, minus luggage that was in another car. It's somehow dropped since then, though. I average about 27-28 normally.
35mpg. '05 LS Sport eco auto. w/ac on about 30.
I'm getting 20-24 mix w/2.2 auto (1991)
'03 5sp Eco, 32 avg city, 41 highway. A/C on.
Don
I'm getting about 400-430 miles out of a full tank. My CEL is on (but sometimes goes out).
03' Automatic ECO average 30 mpg
i knew we got good gas mileage but I didn't thikn it was that good
BTW just dug out the window sticker for my Silver 2004 LS Sport 5-speed..... rated at 26/37
19 in the city no matter what I do ...
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
I'd like to see the math on the ones that say they get upwards of 40mpg.
The best milage I can report is 32mpg. Mostly highway. 04' eco 5spd
On the 02' 2200 auto best of 28mpg. mostly highway.
The 97 2.4 auto gets about 24mpg average.
282.6 mile trip back home. guage read half a tank and didn't beleive it was right. Went to fill and pumped 6.4 gallons...44.5 MPG. EGT on the HWY at 75 was running 930degC I can't recall what the mixture actually was leaned out to I didn't write it down. I have yet to lean out past 1000degC i'm not too comfortable leaning out more then that. I've gotten upwards of 49MPG if I lean it out to an EGT of 980 or so. And yes I know leaning out pollutes...

My 2200 4spd gets 30/42
My 2000 5spd gets 32/44
Using A/C demolishes my fuel economy and I end up getting closer to the EPA numbers.
