Need to find source of a rattle.

Almost always in first, and sometimes into second, there is a nasty rattle coming from the under the hood. I don't know if it's clutch related, or if it's a heat shield or what, but if anyone else has had or heard of this problem and has suggestions, I'm listening. This noise makes me feel like the car is gonna fall apart.

If it's a high sounding metal rattle it's more then likely heat sheild. If it's a deeper sharper metal rattle it's something else. Almost always heat sheilds on these american econo cars.

Im betting the heat shield as well, my sister's 96 Lumina was like that, every time you start it...it would rattle. Turned out to be a rusted heat shield, fixed it and never rattled again.
