Engine Removal Question
Monday, August 21, 2006 3:07 PM
I am removeing and reinstalling a 2.4L engine in my z24. I was curious if it was "easier" to take out from the top or out the bottom? Also if there is anything I need to remove other than the obvious, like brake booster or ??. Is there a trick as well to remove the torque converter bolts from the flywheel? I noticed there is not alot of room to remove them from underneath. Thanks in advance.

take it from the top.. u can leave tranny and axles in place. 2 13mm bolts in passenger wheel well..
leave brake booster
u take off the starter to access the flywheel/torque converter bolts there will be a slot for a socet to fit perfectly. 18mm
