Where to find less expensive oxygen sensors
Monday, August 21, 2006 12:07 PM
I've got a P-0141 code and thus I need to change the oxygen sensor located after the catalytic converter. The GM part number 25320812.

Does anyone know where I can get this sensor for cheaper than the dealer?

BTW, I am located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), but am willing to drive into NY or Michigan.

Thanks,

tygriff

Bosch O2 sensors at Canadian Tire are something like $32.99. I used one once on my old 89 Ciera with the 3300. The old sensor was snapped in two pieces and my gas mileage according the the neato in-car computer never went higher than 22.6. I bought the O2 sensor, the special O2 sensor socket and replaced it in 15 minutes. My gas mileage immediately went from 22.6 to 27.4!

Bosch O2's are only 19.99 here. It's just the standard single wire O2

Anyone can snap a pic of a AC Delco sensor. Post the thing on ebay, and have it not be what they say it is.
My guess is the ones on Ebay, are the Autozone store returns.

I bought the Bosch from Advance Auto Parts, still have 1 another in the top of my tool box. Never had a problem with the bosch. It was 19.99 for the single wire 1. or buy mine for $5 plus shipping.

Normally I would agree with you. I have known way too many people that have had problems with Bosch to recommend the cut price to anyone. Although this was from a different club with a different car, many members had to replace their Bosch HO2S within a month of installing the Bosch. Not only did they get better gas mileage with the AC Delco sensor, they lasted longer too. As in 50 times longer.

Anyone who pays dealership prices maintenance items should be flogged. Go to an AC Delco parts dealer and pay a third of that. Mine was $42.99.

generally autozone and advance auto sell both the AC and Bosch sensors.
