hey all I have the 2000 cavalier with the 2200 motor and its takin @!#$s on me one after another but i think its all connected to one thing, my engine overheats constantly and my heater doesnt blow hot air, and my car idles very roughly when sittin and warmin up.... i changed the plugs thermostat and water pump on it i dunno what to do but I was thinkin head gasket but i dont see any leaks from it correct me if im wrong and any input would be great thanks

also the car smokes outta the tailppipe badly if it helps

White smoke out the tailpipe?

Want to comfirm a headgasket is bad. A compression test, if it is low on two side by side cylinders it is blown.

A blown one will cause rough idle, misfire, loss of power.

ya its white smoke and its plentiful lol thx for the help i just got my back up head from the shop it has race port n polished ports and cumbustion chambers stainless valves and a .0015 shave off the bottom of it (wont hurt it will it lol) and also new valve seals so i get to do my cylinder head tomorrow and a new gasket =D
