heeeellllpppp!

Hello everyone, i have a 95 sunfire with a 2.2 in it, on the way back from hot import nights in chicago this last weekend i was going approx 65 mph and i heard a loud boom and instantly it sounded like i had only a header on the car, ( i have a obx header and a 2.25 exhaust custom piped all the way back), anyway i pulled over and felt pressure and or exhaust coming out of the top of the motor but had no light as it was midnight, so we drove it back 15 minutes at 35 miles an hour to my friends house that was following me and looked under the hood and the #3 cylinder fired the spark plug clear out and was no where to be found, the plug wire was laying on the top of the motor, they were bosch platinum plugs and had about 500 miles on them, i have never heard of this happening, but my friend told me that he has heard of bosch's backing themselves off! Any way we put another plug in the #3 slot and i drove it 20 minutes to my house and parked it, them today i went to change all the plugs and had only a problem with the #1 cyclinder as i loosened the plug all the way out and it was like it kept spinning on the las thread and would not come out as it will move up top down slightly and i tried pulling with pliers and it wouldn't come out, kept spinning for about a half hour and said screw it and tightened it down, has anyone ever hear of this happening?? how did either of these situations happen??
thanks for the help everyone!!!!!!!!!!

the main problem i am seeing here is lack of cool down time we have aluminum heads on these jbodys and if you do @!#$ while they are hot they will strip out the heads and you will end up having to retap the heads or getting a spark plug stuck into them... i work at an autoparts store and i've heard about the bosch's doing this do yourself a favor and get yourself a set of autolite xp104's or ngk iridiums they are the best plug and you will not have to fuss with them for about 100k miles.... i myself have done what you said in my first cylinder mistakenly and now i have a heli-coil in there....

Roy is on the right track I like to give my new plugs a shot of 3 in 1 oil before installing them (They go in soooo much nicer) and i don't run the risk of cross threading them . i use and piece of long rubber hose that fix on the plug and you can tightin it up snug then use the socket to do the final 1/4 turn ...and yes i've heard of plugs shooting out because it was tighten wrong or over tighten and stripped! heli coils will soon become your friend! Delco platinum pulgs are not..
