just today on a 1hour trip from home my sunni lost power and throttle response.once back on the highway at 100 km ran fine . till back in town when i let off the throttle she bogged out and stalled had to pull of the road then started it up again and was ok.started to drive then as soon as i let off the gas it happened again?its still actin up even after cooling down for 4 hours?even when i took another test run to see if it was just to hot..it bogs out then all of a sudden the power comes on hard and runs fine..till i let off the gas?and ideas ?no cel..but at idle it sounds like its misfireing slightly but no flashing cel?was thinkin it may be the line fuel filter..or the kncok sensor...any help would be majorly appreciated ..thanx in advance....and i hope i choose the right forum for this topic

My 97 Sunfire had that very same problem at about 50000 miles. The oil pump was causing a low pressure at idle and the ECM would not let the engine idle. It was odd that the low oil pessure light didn't come on. I took it to the dealer because the car was still under warranty (The car was bought new in 97). They told me about the problem and replaced the oil pump. So far 132000 miles and still going..... Maybe you can get an oil pressure gage and put it where your pressure sensor is to check your pressure at idle. I don't know what the correct pressure is, but it shouldn't be 10psi either..
