DENTED 04 HOOD
Wednesday, August 02, 2006 3:43 PM
Well, on my way home from work today I was behind a work truck and it kicked up a nice sized rock at my hood, right at the front middle part of my hood I now have a dent about the size of a half dollar coin. A little bit of the paint is missing in the middle of the dent from the actual impact I suppose. Does anybody know how to get out this dent without spending a bunch of money?

I was hoping to somehow remove it myself, perhaps some kind of suction cup dent removal tool would work? or should I not waiste my time/money with that stuff and just go to Dent Wizard or some some other Paintless dent removal shop?

Well, since the paint is damaged already, using a suction cup might pull off more paint...

^^^^^^^^^^ try the ding king on it. works great. then a little touch up paint to cover the chip.

but do not use it if you hood has been repainted. it may pull the paint off. the drivers side of my 05 is a repaint and im not going to try it on that, but works great everywhere else.

Thanks for the info SUPERFASSSSTZ, it sounds like this tool will probly do the trick, and yes it still has the factory paint job on it, so I doubt I will run into any problems.

Well, I ended up buying the Ding King from my local Advance autoparts store and gave it a few tries. It didnt work so well The glue that you put on those dent pulling tabs and stick to the dent kept coming off without any effort at all. I let it dry for 5 mins like the directions said, then I tried waiting more like 20mins to see if the glue would cool down and stick to the car better. NOPE. So I still have this nice sized ding in my hood and it freaking sucks!
